Porosimetry & Surface Area by Static Volumetric Gas Adsorption – Surfer Series

Surfer series applies the principle of static volumetric gas adsorption (physical and chemical adsorption) under controlled conditions (temperature and pressure) to determine micro structural properties of solids and powders. Surfer will determine Specific surface area (m2/g), Pore size distribution in the meso, micro, ultra-micro and extended mesopore ranges, Total pore volume (cc/g) and Exposed metal surface area and metal dispersion in catalysts.

Surfer Series consists of four models that differ by the configuration and the type of experiment

Surfer Rapid: Low cost mostly for QA/QC applications for physisorption study.
Typical surface area from 0.1 m2/g. Pore volume from 0.0005 cm3/g. Pore size from 2 to 100 nm.


Surfer STD: For most of applications for physisorption study.
Typical surface area from 0.01 m2/g. Pore volume from 0.00005 cm3/g. Pore size from 2 to 100 nm.

Surfer Micro: For microporous materials & using Kr for very low surface areas for physisorption and chmisorption studies.
Typical surface area from 0.01 m2/g (0.001 m2/g using Kr). Pore volume from 0.00005 cm3/g. Pore size from 0.35 to 100 nm. (Extendable up to 500 nm)

Surfer Ultra: Top of the line for ultra-microporous materials characterization & using Kr for very low surface areas for physisorption and chmisorption studies, with oil free dry vacuum pump.
Typical surface area from 0.01 m2/g (0.001 m2/g using Kr). Pore volume from 0.00005 cm3/g. Pore size from 0.35 to 100 nm. (Extendable up to 500 nm).
