Photoionization Detector (PID)
The Model 4430 Photoionization Detector (PID) is a GC detector that selectively responds to aromatic and olefinic hydrocarbons in the presence of alkanes and other saturated hydrocarbons. The 4430 PID features a unique patented Window SweepTM design that prevents the sample stream from contacting and contaminating the lamp window. It also allows analysis of photosensitive compounds, which would otherwise polymerize on the window surface. The PID is available for installation on most GC manufacturer’s instruments. |

XSD (Halogen Specific Detector) The Model 5360 and Model 5360A Halogen Specific Detectors (XSD™) are developed for the selective detection of halogen-containing compounds eluting from a GC capillary column in the subpicogram to microgram range. The XSD installs in the standard detector port of most GC makes and models. Unlike other halogen selective detectors, the XSD contains no radioactive sources and does not use organic solvents. These XSDs do not require catalyst tubes, solvents, resin cartridges, pumps, or transfer lines. Wipe testing and complicated record keeping are eliminated. |

Electrolytic Conductivity Detector The Model 5320 Electrolytic Conductivity Detector (ELCD) is a third-generation ELCD designed for selective detection of halogen-containing compounds. The ELCD’s principal mode of operation is the halogen mode (X); sulfur (S) and nitrogen (N) modes are also available. |

Tandem PID/FID This patented combination of two detectors in tandem produce simultaneous chromatograms for aromatics and aliphatics, eliminating the need for two separate analyses. The Tandem PID/FID can be used with either packed or capillary columns. |
|
Tandem PID/ELCD With these two detectors in tandem, simultaneous detection of aromatic and halogen compounds is possible, eliminating the need for two separate analyses. Both detectors can be used independently, if desired. The PID/ELCD is available for installation on most GC manufacturer’s instruments. |
